Shopware 6 is een volwaardige ecommerce-applicatie gebouwd op het Symfony PHP-framework — geen plugin, geen lichtgewicht storefrontengine. De architectuur wordt gedefinieerd door drie gelijktijdig draaiende services: Elasticsearch (of OpenSearch) als kern voor zoeken en filteren, Redis voor sessiebeheer en objectcaching, en RabbitMQ als asynchrone message broker. In tegenstelling tot WooCommerce of PrestaShop, die de meeste bewerkingen synchroon verwerken binnen één verzoekscyclus, verdeelt Shopware de werklast over onafhankelijke services die allemaal tegelijkertijd responsief moeten blijven. Dit maakt de keuze van infrastructuur cruciaal.

Waarom Shopware Dedicated Infrastructure Vereist

De message queue van Shopware onderscheidt het van de meeste ecommerce-platforms. Achtergrondworkers draaien continu en verwerken orderbevestigingen, voorraadwijzigingen, geplande imports, Flow Builder-automatiseringen en door plugins geactiveerde taken — allemaal buiten de storefrontverzoekscyclus, maar in concurrentie met dezelfde CPU en RAM. Op gedeelde hosting of te kleine VPS-omgevingen raken deze workers vertraagd of komen ze in de wachtrij te staan, wat leidt tot vertraagde orderverwerking en verminderde storefrontprestaties tegelijkertijd. Een dedicated server geeft elke laag — storefront, workers, zoekindex — zijn eigen ongedeelde resourcetoewijzing.

CPU-prestaties en PHP-uitvoering

De Symfony-basis van Shopware introduceert een veeleisendere PHP-bootstrapvolgorde dan plugin-gebaseerde platforms. Elk storefrontverzoek lost de dependency injection container op, compileert de Twig-renderingpipeline en verwerkt het sales channel en de pluginlaag van Shopware voordat de uitvoer wordt gegenereerd. Deze volgorde wordt per verzoek uitgevoerd en kan niet volledig worden omzeild voor geauthenticeerde of dynamische sessies. Een hoge single-core kloksnelheid op AMD EPYC-processors houdt deze overhead laag en vermindert TTFB bij productoverzichten en afrekenstromen, ook tijdens gelijktijdige verkeerspieken.

Een Geïntegreerde Opslag- en Cachingarchitectuur

Op een Shopware dedicated server functioneren Elasticsearch, Redis en NVMe-opslag als een onderling verbonden systeem. Elasticsearch beheert de zoek- en categorieindex — bewerkingen die aanhoudende lees- en schrijf-I/O genereren tijdens catalogusupdates of herindexeringtaken. NVMe-opslag zorgt ervoor dat deze bewerkingen zonder wachtrijen worden voltooid. Redis staat tussen de applicatie en de database in en cachet objectgegevens en sessiestatus met een vaste RAM-toewijzing die nooit wordt gedeeld met of verdrongen door andere tenants. Het resultaat zijn stabiele cache-hitpercentages en consistente responstijden onder gelijktijdige belasting.

Headless, Multi-Channel en Europees van Opzet

Shopware 6 is gebouwd voor API-first en headless implementaties, met native ondersteuning voor meerdere sales channels, storefronts en PWA-configuraties vanuit één backend-instantie. Elke actieve channel genereert zijn eigen verzoekbelasting en workeractivity, waardoor de vraag naar serverresources toeneemt.
